Rumor has it, this is one of Dolly Parton’s favorite spots in her hometown! She loves a good “slaw dog”!
You will drive past it if you blink! A hidden gem in Sevier County since 1953! Unless you stop to get gas and pay in cash or run in for a quick snack…you are probably not going to be aware to this amazing eatery that sits inside a Marathon Gas Station! In early 2020, on my way out of town, I was told by a local (Who was raised in Tampa and now owns a business in Sevierville) about Frank Allen Market & Grill. Seeing as they have not updated their Facebook page since 2019, they are just overly busy flipping the best local burgers in town!
Located right off the Parkway (down a bit from the very popular Pigeon Forge area) at 930 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862 you will find a Marathon Gas Station. There is some decent parking. When you walk in you will be drooling over the smell of fresh burgers, fries and other greasy wholesome goodies!
The prices are right and the vibe is on point. YES, it is in a gas station but they have quite a few tables! Step right up to the counter to place your order, grab a drink from the fountain station or cooler and pay at the regular gas station counter. Your food will be up shortly! Three of us ate for under $30 and it was one of the best burgers we have had that was not considered “farm to table fresh”. We already have it on our hit list for this upcoming trip! We were basic, burgers and fries. Wanted to stick with what was recommended, although we may stray and order extra goodies.

There is no website that I can find other than mentions on other restaurant websites or reviews sites like TripAdvisor and Yelp but this means you can probably fit in between the locals who frequent and grab a table easily! (Most places in Pigeon Forge down the road are going to make you wait because its a tourist trap!) At this time of posting they are listed as #42 from 119 restaurants in Sevierville but I also don’t think most people would jump to go eat in a gas station (your loss!!!)
You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner. They may close down early if slow some nights so call ahead if trying to go for dinner! It feels more like prices your parents were used to! Their lunch and dinner has an assortment of burgers, chicken, fish, wings and more. Breakfast which we have not yet tried has all the favorites from eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy just to name a few.
If you are in town, I encourage you to stop by! The staff is friendly, the food is great, and it supports small business! The fact you can feel like a local is just a bonus!
